Manage a Tier 2 Headless ECU
This article describes how to setup, configure, and run PolySync Core on a headless ECU without GUI support.
PolySync Core has two categories of architecture support:
Tier 1 / Tier 2.
Tier 1architectures are fully supported and can use the GUI tools
PolySync Core Studioand
PolySync Core SDF Configurator
Tier 2architectures are headless and do not support the GUI tools, and must use command line tools for record, replay, and validating data
1. Modify the SDF
Tier 2 hosts must leverage a Tier 1 host with Core installed to create or modify the SDF.
2. Monitor nodes on a Tier 2 host
Monitor the status of nodes on a headless ECU by looking at the error, debug, warn, and info messages in the
$ tail -f $PSYNC_USER_HOME/polysync.log
3. Starting nodes in hardware mode
The Starting Nodes (Command Line) article demonstrates how to start the manager and nodes in the system SDF with command line flags.
4. Record logfiles
The Record Logfiles (Command Line) article demonstrates how to use the
polysync-rnr-control-c application to record logfiles on a headless ECU.
5. Replay logfiles
The Replay Logfiles (Command Line) article demonstrates how to use the
polysync-rnr-control-c appliction to replay logfiles on a headless ECU.
